No doubt all of my old Aiglon College chums will immediately think of me when they see a Swiss FBW Post Bus like1956 P24012 in this 1965 view. However this one was only borrowed from Stalden and although it was identical to Chesieres P24001 it bore bodywork by Eggli of Lausanne, whilst our regular C40U was by Ramseier + Jenzer of Bern. No doubt like myself, you will all be pleased to know that our faithful 1955 bus was one of several not scrapped and is now in the good hands of Gerber Oldie-Reisen, 4713 Matzendorf SO. I hoped to find Herr Schumacher on one of my regular winter 'Post Bus Find Holidays'. But although he was still with the PTT and had become head of Bulach Garage, sadly he died in his Fifties in 1991 and I was never able to pay him that surprise visit! I want to please make an appeal to fellow old Aiglonians because I would dearly love to have either photos or scans of any Swiss bus they encountered and especially Post Buses.
