Even though they still had plenty of life left in them solid old buses like these Bristol Lodekka's became reduntant in the early Eighties as service cuts took their toll and operators were encouraged to buy new 'one-man' buses. As they awaited their fate in a dealers yard their best hope was for a tiny few being converted into sightseeing buses, but otherwise their only hope was a short role as staff buses on for driver training.
